Sheep
The current Cobble Hill Sheep 4H Club was re-established in 2019 after the Cowichan Community club divided into individual 4H clubs. At that time there were twelve members and lots happening with a very active club. The club was gaining new members each year and definitely promoting sheep in the Cobble Hill area again.
The 4H year for the members contains all of the standard 4H activities such as communication activities and projects, judging rallies, junior and senior camps and the members favorite activity which is lots of fair participation here in the Cowichan district.
The most important part of the program of course is the hands on instruction on caring for the members sheep and especially their project lambs for each year. Each month the members explore and learn all aspects of caring for their lambs and sheep in general. Training and grooming the lambs for the fairs is foremost and members love having trimming sessions, where they help each other with the whole aspect of getting the lambs to look their best. Bathing the lambs in the summer is always a fun summer day event!
The Cobble Hill Sheep 4H Club is always inviting new members, ages 9 and up. 4H has a very rewarding program and we think when you add sheep it’s even more fun
